According to new allegations from a whistleblower, the convicted associate of Jeffrey Epstein, currently serving a two-decade sentence for trafficking offenses, is allegedly readying a clemency request for review by the presidential administration.

Preferential Handling Claimed at Federal Prison

Congressional Democrats on the House judiciary committee announced that a source provided evidence indicating Maxwell is working on the commutation application. Additionally, they mentioned she has been receiving special treatment at the federal prison camp in the Lone Star State.

Representative Jamie Raskin, the ranking member on the committee, stated in a news release that the prison’s warden was assisting Maxwell with document preparation and submission to support her bid for clemency.

Specific details of the “commutation application” are unknown, Raskin added.

Claimed Perks and Special Accommodations

Raskin states that, according to the whistleblower, Maxwell has been given specially prepared food that are “personally delivered” to her cell, and the supervisor has individually organized exclusive visits for Maxwell and her visitors.

The visits allegedly include a designated private space for visitors and a variety of food and drinks for her guests.

Maxwell’s visitors were also allowed to bring computers, which Raskin described as an “unprecedented action” given the potential danger and potential for unmonitored communications.

Reportedly on one occasion, when phone lines went down for other prisoners, Maxwell was provided directions about who she should tell her associates to call and how staff would relay the call to her.

Warden as “Personal Secretary”

The source also allegedly told congressional members that when Maxwell wanted to examine and modify papers promptly, she reportedly employed the warden as her “personal secretary and administrative assistant”.

The statement states that those writing to her would send files directly to the warden, who would hand them over to the inmate, who would review and edit them and provide them back to the warden to digitize and send to the original sender.

Extra Benefits Alleged

Other privileges reportedly provided to Maxwell include time to “play with” a service dog puppy – a perk typically prohibited – as well as private after-hours access to the facility's gym.

Maxwell’s attorney has not yet replied to a request for comment regarding the insider's allegations.

In a statement, the presidential office said that it “will not discuss” on potential clemency requests.

“As President Trump has stated, granting clemency to Ghislaine Maxwell is not something he has thought about,” the representative added.

Recent Background

Over the weekend, reports surfaced that Maxwell told close associates in emails from prison that she was more content at the Texas facility than her previous prison.

This past summer, Maxwell was transferred from a low-security prison in Florida's capital to the minimum-security camp in the state, where most inmates are serving time for non-violent offenses and white-collar crimes.

This move, which experts described as “unprecedented”, occurred just shortly following she was questioned about the Epstein case by the deputy attorney general, the official, who also previously served as Donald Trump's personal lawyer.

That interview came as the administration was facing increasing scrutiny to release more documents related to the Epstein investigation and amid intense speculation around the President's own personal ties to the disgraced financier and convicted sex offender, who was found dead in a New York jail in 2019 while awaiting prosecution on trafficking accusations.

Lawmaker Reactions

In the news release, Raskin also announced that he had dispatched a communication to the President, demanding answers about the insider's claims, and urged the president to reject the clemency appeal.

“It would be inappropriate to approve any type of pardon to this convicted and unrepentant sex offender,” the representative stated in the letter. “Your Administration should not be providing her with personal amenities, with puppies to play with, with government agents attending to her requests, or with any special treatment or facility benefit at all.”

The congressman asked that Blanche appear for a public congressional hearing to address the disclosures and also posed three questions to Trump.

Raskin asked whether he had discussed a potential commutation for the convict with the official or others, whether he had directed Blanche or anyone else to arrange her with the move or favorable and preferential treatment in detention, and whether Maxwell, her lawyers, family or agents have made any promises to Trump or his legal team.

The representative requested for a response to the inquiries by the specified date.

Last month, the nation's highest court declined to hear an appeal from the convict on her sex-trafficking conviction.
