It's a challenge for Australia to break new ground.

The greatest achievements have already been conquered.

This is the team that has secured seven Cricket World Cups, plus another six T20 titles, and previously enjoyed 1,294 days undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The alternative records, the ones sought by the achievement hunters, are the only things left for a side that has achieved everything.

It needed as late as Sunday's three-wicket win over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase exceeding 300, taking back their record for the largest in the female 50-over format, is, honestly, a tribute to the bowlers that have worn canary yellow over the last half-century.

It is hard for their batsmen to hold a record if not afforded the chance.

Finally, the outcome of Australia conceding 330 was leader Alyssa Healy receiving a chance to produce her latest masterpiece.

Originally famous as the teenage relative of renowned former Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she made her debut in 2010 after Australia failed to win either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups held the previous year and has experienced everything through 15 successful years since.

Success in the T20 World Cup arrived three months after her first appearance and seven global championships have come from 10 efforts across formats.

The gritty keeper was present as well in Derby in 2017 when a last-four loss by India momentarily interrupted the winning streak.

That loss "pushed us to reevaluate our levels," Healy said this week.

At the subsequent ODI World Cup in New Zealand, Healy scored 170 against England in the championship match and was named player of the tournament. She guaranteed her country would not fall short again.

If this recent magnificent innings surpassed that earlier display can be debated.

Certain people claim the reasoning behind final game tension. Some might respond with the challenge that comes when pursuing an unprecedented total and an enthusiastic Indian fanbase of 20,000.

What's definite is this ton was far harder to predict.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 occurred when she topped the run-scoring charts, but this innings was preceded by six games in India from the beginning of the previous month in which she had not exceeded 30 runs.

"For those following me in practice sessions, it has been a frustrating experience because I feel like I've had no rhythm whatsoever," said Healy.

"However when you enter the playing area, your fighting spirit kick in and you simply focus on the competition."

Healy's competitiveness has consistently been her great strength - and a priceless quality in replacing iconic ex-skipper Meg Lanning.

She was troubled by India's emerging talent Kranti Gaud in the previous month's ODI series, fallen to the young fast bowler in every game, but here that only provided Healy's inspiration.

A single came off Gaud's first delivery and from that point the right-hander was on her way.

"The possibility to play and face the challenge with her and just have a bit of fun in that aspect, somewhat inspired me," said Healy.

She achieved fifty in 35 balls - her quickest at the World Cup - and her hundred in 84 deliveries while she attacked short-pitched balls, scoring 21 fours and three big hits.

When she was dismissed the team needed 66 more at a run-a-ball - a manageable total now demanding an easy conclusion.

"To chase 330 is unfamiliar ground so I am glad we have the belief to accomplish that now," added Healy.

"Hopefully we don't have to do it another time but, should it happen, we know we can succeed."

These statements will be the final thing competing nations at this tournament should hear.

Over the past five days a feeling they will win from any position has only strengthened - this triumph coming after victory over Pakistan by 107 runs despite sitting at 76-7 at one point.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before a match against longtime competitors England in Indore in 10 days, by which point a semi-final berth may likely be confirmed.

During that phase they were eliminated from the previous year's T20 World Cup in a shock defeat by South Africa - a game Healy missed because of damaged tissue in her foot as she led her country for the first time at a major tournament.

So strong is her resolve, she afterwards commented she regretted not playing despite the injury.

But while she subsequently acknowledged those injuries have pushed back plans to retire, this championship is expected to be her concluding event as leader in one-day cricket and she is yet to win an international tournament as leader.

Victory in India would bring her to the top of her final mountain.
